Shekina Garden is a Jesus Devotional Community in the heart of the Pai Valley in Northern Thailand. We are a group of friends who share a passion for Jesus. We love the radical nature of Jesus—the Jesus who was going to speak the truth, even if it got him into serious trouble (which it did). We loved the “hippie” side of Jesus, who liked hanging out with friends and talking long into the night over good food. And we loved Jesus, the artist—the Jesus who created the world, and every beautiful thing in it.
Shekina’s purpose is to reflect the way, truth, and life of Jesus among international travelers and spiritual seekers around the world. We do this in our small community by diving into our practice of the Christian faith with worship, meditation, creativity, and devotion, with an emphasis on welcoming the seeker so that they may come to a clearer understanding of who Jesus is and what it means to be his followers. We hold regular circles for the practice of guided meditation in the Christian tradition, experiencing God’s voice in his words, in silence, and in hearing from one another. We bring our full creative gifts together in devotion circles. We encourage one another in the artistic gifts that each of us has been entrusted with, we offer our worship to God in song, and sometimes we simply get together and eat a really good meal.

We welcome folk to visit whom have a heart to connect with travelers and seekers from all over the world. A heart to make connections, through art, music, poetry, dance, creativity, through sharing your authentic heart and being vulnerable. We also love avid gardeners, nature lovers, people with handy building skills and those willing to cook and love on our kids.
If you are not yet on the path of Christ but would like to carve out space to investigate if Jesus is the truth, we run Guided Retreats for 5 or 10 days in which you will be immersed in community life as well as have a daily practice of reading the scriptures and other texts, prayer and solitude.
As our kids grow up in this small town we would love people to sew into the spiritual and social lives of our kids.
The nature of life in a developing country is that things break constantly. If you have ‘fix it’ skills, we’d love you to come and share them with us.
We do not have accommodation on site at Shekina Garden, you will need to stay in a guest house in town and be largely independent. Outside of our regular Rhythms we are parents, homeschoolers, English teachers, poets, gardeners, social workers, carpenters, roving musicians, authors and artists. Whilst we love visitors, we will not be able to fill your days, and request that you use creativity to find new and beautiful ways to engage with the folks who cross your path.
